The results of the poll are in, and more people said they’d convert if I halved the cost from $10 a month to $5. So I’ve taken the punt and done it—and also halved the yearly fee as well, from $240 to $120.
I know that I will take a hit from this immediately; I’m just hoping that it will lead to more conversions from free to paying subscribers over time.
This is possible because Phil Dobbie decided to take our Debunking Economics podcast out from behind a paywall. That was the one thing that paying subscribers received that free subscribers didn’t—but it also meant that people didn’t hear our podcasts unless they subscribed.
Now that the podcast is freely available (with paying subscribers here getting it one day early), we hope that the non-mainstream approach I take to economics will become more widely known. That is the ultimate objective of both this site and my Patreon site.
