Why the Federal Reserve doesn't understand the monetary system that it's supposed to manage
The marketing team that promotes my online course is doing a brilliant job now of jazzing up my videos on economics.
The most recent, released on Sunday night New York time, is a “reaction video” to Ted Cruz calling for the Federal Reserve to stop paying interest on excess reserves. I used that smart idea from an otherwise very dumb person as a way to explain why Neoclassical economists don’t understand money.
Please watch it, like it, and subscribe to my channel:
The more people that do, the more YouTube will promote it. This in turn increases the number of people who do understand how the monetary works.
The video is already doing well: it has had almost 20,000 views in the last 17 hours. The more it gets, the more YouTube promotes it: videos like this generate advertising revenue for YouTube, which is why they promote videos in the first place.
So please, watch the video—for at least ten minutes, the length of time people watch it also influences the algorithm. You can do your bit to spread some sense in this otherwise senseless world we inhabit.
